A 35 year old Egyptian woman who resides near the Nile river, travels to the USA and observes that she has developed itchy, hyperpigmented skin and nodules on her right cheek. She also complains of blurry vision of recent onset. Ophthalmic exam shows that her visual acuity is markedly decreased in the right eye and Fundoscopic examination reveals movement of a microrganism in the sclera of her right eye.

    The correct answer is (A) Onchocerca volvulus, which is known to cause "river blindness". It is transmitted through repeated bites by Blackflies and are often found around rivers in Africa, South America and the Arabian countries.

    Options B, C, D, E and F are all parasites that may affect the eyes.
